- Chevrolet and GMC cars and trucks
- Pontiac
- Oldsmobile
- Buick
- Cadillac
- Engines including many 305, 350, 400, 403, 455 and other GM V8 applications
That could include vehicles such as Chevrolet C/K pickups, Camaro, Corvette, Caprice, Monte Carlo, Pontiac Firebird, GTO, Grand Prix, Oldsmobile Cutlass, Buick Skylark and various Cadillac models—but this is only the broad Quadrajet application family, not a claim that this carburetor correctly fits all of them.
The exact application depends on:
- Rochester identification number
- Choke type
- Throttle and transmission linkage
- Fuel-inlet direction
- Vacuum-port arrangement
- Engine size
- Model year and emissions calibration
- Automatic versus manual transmission
Look for a stamped 7- or 8-digit number on the driver’s side of the main body, normally near the secondary throttle linkage. Typical formats are:
702xxxx, 703xxxx or 704xxxx1705xxxx or 1708xxxx
Do not use the raised casting numbers for fitment; those identify castings, not the finished carburetor application. Send me clear photographs of both sides and the stamped number, and I can identify the likely year, GM division, transmission type and original vehicle/engine applications. The original Rochester manual also confirms that Quadrajet variants differ in controls and calibration, despite sharing the same basic design. Rochester Quadrajet service manual
